In the times of a pandemic, every precaution must be taken. We recognize housing is important and many buyers are in a bind as the market seems to have come to a halt in Central PA. What can you do? There are still ways to pursue a home purchase. Read on…
FIND AN AGENT
Discussing your needs with a qualified real estate agent will help you to discover how to proceed with your real estate goals. We’ll take you through the process and explain what being a buyer during the pandemic will look like.
GET PREQUALIFIED
You’ve talked to an agent to discuss your real estate needs and goals and now it’s time for the most important step in the home buying process: speaking to a lender about pre-qualification. Mortgage rates are still low and acting now will allow you to take advantage of rate locks. We are happy to connect you with a lender who can discuss your financial situation and help guide you towards a price range that you are qualified for and comfortable in. Once you find the home of your dreams, you’ll be already to go and be ready to move forward with a mortgage application.
MAKE A TOP 5 LIST
How important is that first floor bedroom or in-ground swimming pool to your “must-have” list? Make a list of your musts and then number them in order of importance. We can help you list your priorities and advise you on which musts are realistic in your price range.
MLS PORTAL
Many sites offer home listings that are syndicated from the MLS, but there’s nothing like getting it straight from the source. Get access to listings that are being pre-marketed and in “Coming Soon” status before they ever get to sites like Realtor.com or Zillow. We’ll be able to match your criteria to what is coming on the market and access all the listing documents associated with a listing.
DRIVE BYS
Discovering what you want in a home can be done from the safety of your home… or your car. Take a drive with the windows down through the areas that you are looking in. What neighborhood is right for you? Drive the distance between your workplace and your preferred neighborhoods to see if the commute is doable. Check out the area. How close are schools, restaurants, parks and other important destinations to the home your looking at?
VIRTUAL SHOWINGS
We may not be able to take you through physical home tours during this time, but sellers are partnering with agents and buyers in creative, safe, ways to showcase their homes. Every home and seller will be different, but as more homes become active on the market during this time, we are happy to let you know all of your options as soon as you see a property you are interested in.
